Indian passport holders can now benefit from a UAE pre-approved visa on arrival, facilitated by Emirates Airlines and VFS Global or the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDFRA). This process allows eligible travelers to enjoy a 14-day single entry visa, simplifying the arrival experience and reducing customs hassle. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you through the process:

Eligibility Checklist

Before you apply for the UAE pre-approved visa on arrival for Indian passport holders, ensure you meet the following criteria:

  1. Indian Passport: Must be valid for at least six months.
  2. Valid Visa/Residency: Hold a valid visa or residency for the US, UK, or EU (minimum of six months validity).
  3. Airline Booking: Have a booking with Emirates Airlines or apply through the GDFRA.
  4. Personal Photo: Provide a recent personal photo with a white background.
  5. No Travel Restrictions: Ensure no restrictions prevent you from entering the UAE.

Eligible Categories

  • Indian passport holder with a US visa valid for at least six months.
  • Indian passport holder with a US green card valid for at least six months.
  • Indian passport holder with a UK residence card valid for at least six months.

Application Process

Follow these steps to apply for the UAE pre-approved visa on arrival for Indian passport holders:

For Emirates Airlines Passengers:

  1. Visit Emirates Website: Go to Emirates or use the Emirates mobile application.
  2. Manage Booking: Click on ‘Manage an existing booking’ to retrieve your booking details.
  3. Apply for Visa: Select ‘Apply for a UAE visa’ to be redirected to the UAE visa application site by VFS Global.
  4. Complete Application: Fill in the required information and submit your application.
  5. Payment: Pay the visa application fee (AED 250 or $68).
  6. Approval and Email: Upon approval, the visa will be sent to your registered email within 48 hours.

For GDFRA Applicants:

  1. Visit GDFRA Website: Go to smart.gdrfad.gov.ae.
  2. Log In/Create Account: Log in or create a new account.
  3. Choose Service: Select ‘Visa on arrival for citizens of the Republic of India residing in (America, Britain, European Union countries)’.
  4. Fill Application: Complete the required information.
  5. Payment: Pay the application fee.
  6. Approval: The visa will be sent to your registered email upon approval within 48 hours.

Important Notes

  • 14-Day Visa: The visa is valid for a 14-day single entry and can be extended once for an additional 14 days.
  • Discretion of GDFRA: The issuance and extension of visas are at the discretion of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDFRA).
